A woman had to be airlifted to an area trauma center after a single vehicle accident in Cumberland County Sunday evening. According to authorities, the vehicle was traveling on Dripping Springs Rd. around 7 PM when the driver left the roadway, rolled twice hitting a mailbox and came to rest against a tree. The report said that the vehicle had three occupants and that a back seat passenger, Kaitlyn Shultis, had a severe foot injury. The driver, 22-year-old Aaron Dale Ashburn who was found to be intoxicated, originally said that he was not behind the wheel at the time of the crash, but evidence proved otherwise. Shultis was transported by medical helicopter to Erlanger Hospital for her injury while Ashburn was charged with two counts of reckless endangerment and DUI.
